MISSION The Erie Regional Library Foundation's (ERLF) mission is to secure the funding necessary to build branch libraries and provide for the dynamic new projects that keep our libraries creative, flexible, and ready to serve .
PURPOSE To maintain and expand the branch library system in Erie County by accepting
charitable gifts and ensuring funding is available for capital improvements and
operations to all County-owned libraries.
VISION To ensure the philanthropic support for the physical and operational future of the Erie
County Public Library System as a dynamic and vibrant community center of civic development through education, opportunity, and technology.
HISTORIC CONTRIBUTION
Our organization was founded in 2000 as the sole philanthropic tributary of the Erie
County Public Library System securing funding to enhance the endowment at the Erie
Community Foundation of Dr. Raymond M. Blasco, a fierce library supporter. This
endowment enabled the initial operations of this 501(c)3 organization so our libraries
can grow and evolve in tandem with our diverse community. In addition to funding the
construction of new branches and renovating and maintaining established branches and
funding a new Bookmobile, we have invested in supporting strategic planning,
entrepreneurship development, innovation and technology projects.
